ISLAMABAD – A special court in the country’s federal capital Islamabad hasgranted interim bail to ousted Pakistani premier Imran Khan till October31in the prohibited funding case.

PTI Chief appeared in court in person today as federal investigatorsregistered a case against him and other PTI leaders under the ForeignExchange Act.

Special Judge Raja Asif Mehmood directed the former PM to submit a bailbond of Rs100,000.

In his petition, the PTI chief maintained that the apex investigationagency in questionable exercise and abuse of its powers has made hecticefforts to register a false and fabricated case against him on a seriousallegation.

Khan also mentioned in his plea the Election Commission of Pakistan’sreport has been challenged in the high court.

Political parties have nefarious motive and agenda behind filing the caseagainst the PTI chairman, the plea stated.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court granted protective bail to PTI chief tillOctober 18.

It all started as the apex investigations agency booked former partyleaders including Imran Khan, in the prohibited funding case lodged by FIACommercial Banking Circle Islamabad.

Khan and other party leaders were accused of violating the Foreign ExchangeAct and they were declared as the beneficiaries of suspicious bank accounts.
