Pakistani skipper Babar Azam retracts his earlier statement made in India

“We’ve spent a week in Hyderabad, and our preparations have beenexcellent,” Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam stated to PCB Digital on the eveof Pakistan’s first tournament match. “We conducted two practice matches, experimenting with various combinations and giving everyone a chance toshowcase their abilities in different situations. Our practice sessionswere successful, and we’re committed to giving our best.”

“In terms of my experience and watching matches in India on television, Ican confidently say that the pitches appear to be in great shape, promisinghigh-scoring games. The boundaries are of standard size, neither too smallnor too large.”

However, during ICC Captain’s Day on Wednesday, Babar expressed concernsabout the short boundaries at certain Indian venues, fearing that theymight put bowlers at a disadvantage over the next six weeks. “Theboundaries are compact, leaving little room for bowlers. Any slight errorin bowling is capitalized on by the batsmen, leading to high scores.”

Reflecting on his journey over the past four years, the Pakistan captainremarked, “My journey has been quite fulfilling, with its fair share of upsand downs, as is natural in sports. I’ve faced challenges along the way,but I’ve always strived to meet the expectations of our fans. I’ve had theprivilege of meeting outstanding individuals and forming strong bonds withmy teammates. It’s been three years since I’ve been playing alongside theseguys, and our camaraderie has grown stronger over time. Ultimately, wespend more time with each other than with our families, so we support eachother’s performances and give our all for Pakistan.”
