In an effort to tackle environmental and traffic issues, the Lahore HighCourt (LHC) has taken the step of instructing authorities to imposesubstantial fines.
Specifically, fines of Rs5,000 will be levied for improper parking andRs3,000 for individuals washing their cars at home. This decision is partof an ongoing hearing concerning measures to combat smog in the provincialcapital.
Furthermore, the court has highlighted that the fines collected will bechanneled into the funds of the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) tosupport water-related initiatives.

In addition to these fines, the Judicial Water Commission has recommendedpenalties of Rs2,000 for individuals not wearing helmets while ridingmotorcycles.
