US Dollar drops further against Pakistani Rupee in interbank

Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward trajectory against the US dollarin the interbank market on Thursday, marking its 21st consecutive sessionof gains.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the rupee strengthened byRs1 against the US dollar, reaching a trading rate of Rs284, up fromyesterday’s closing rate of Rs284.68.

In the open market, the dollar’s value decreased by Rs1, reaching Rs284 inthe morning trade, as reported by the Exchange Companies Association ofPakistan.

This positive trend in the rupee’s value comes after the Pakistanigovernment’s intensified efforts to combat illegal dollar trading, whichhas contributed to the currency’s appreciation. Last week, the Pakistanirupee gained 4.02 against the US dollar, following these crackdown efforts.
