Karachi: The Seismological Research Institute Solar System Geometry Survey(SSG-ASG) has predicted a strong earthquake in the underground Chaman FaultLine in Balochistan in the next two days. Balochistan’s expert geologist,Professor Dr. Din Muhammad Kakar, states that there are no immediatescientific signs of earthquakes in Balochistan, but a more intenseearthquake could occur on the Chaman Fault Line in the next 6 to 8 years.
Speaking to a private channel, geology expert Dr. Din Muhammad stated thatthe public does not need to be more alarmed by the recent earthquakeprediction. Short-term earthquake predictions within 24 to 48 hours are notpossible.
They further mentioned that a major earthquake occurred in this fault linein 1892, causing widespread destruction in the old Chaman city. Althoughthe Chaman Fault Line is now active, it is not accurate to say that animmediate earthquake can occur from it.
Dr. Din Muhammad Kakar explained that the Chaman Fault Line does notdirectly affect Quetta, as Quetta has its own fault line.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also stated regardingSSG-ASG’s recent prediction that it is impossible to predict when and wherean earthquake will occur. No predictions can be made.
