Imran Khan s transfer to Adiala Jail turned out to be well thought out plan against him: report

Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s transfer to Adiala Jail was initially interpretedas a relief, but the current circumstances and the speed at which theircases are being processed suggest that they were moved to Adiala not forrelief but to expedite their cases. This is because the Cipher case is thestrongest among the cases filed against PTI Chairman, with a potentialsentence of up to 14 years, from two years previously.

The host of the ‘Program ’10 to ‘Tak,’ Rehan Tariq, stated that in thiscase, the other co-accused, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was in Adiala Jail, andImran Khan, the PTI Chairman, was in Attock Jail before. So, conducting thecase hearings administratively faced some difficulties, but now both canpossibly appear together in one case.

Today, during the Cipher case, a request for bail was heard in theIslamabad High Court. The Islamabad High Court reserved the decision onChairman PTI Imran Khan’s bail request in the Cipher case on the plea ofin-camera proceedings under the Official Secrets Act. Prosecutor ShahKhawar Advocate appeared before the court and said that the trial cannot bemade public under the Official Secrets Act.

The Chief Justice raised a question that the trial is separate; can thebail hearing also be in-camera? Shah Khawar Advocate said that under theOfficial Secrets Act, the trial cannot be made public. Today, we have fileda request in the trial court; during the bail hearing, some importantdocuments and statements have to be presented in court. If this actionbecomes public, it can affect relations with some countries.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq inquired that when the court writes the decisionon the bail request, it will be public. When the decision becomes public, why should the hearing be in-camera? Whether this camera is done or not isthe discretion of the trial court. Shah Khawar Advocate said that Saifur isa secret document. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said that if there is anycode of conduct or SOP regarding Saifur, let us know. I have not approvedthe camera request so far, but you provide evidence.
