The Election Commission has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs topromptly inform international observers about transparency in the upcominggeneral elections and has also granted approval for an ethical code forinternational observers.
In a crucial meeting led by the Chief Election Commissioner, SikandarSultan Raja, members, the Secretary of the Election Commission, and othersenior officers were present.
As per the issued statement, it was decided in the meeting that theMinistry of Foreign Affairs should be immediately notified in writing totake all necessary steps for inviting international observers to monitorthe electoral process during the upcoming general elections, especiallythose organizations of foreign observers who have expressed their interestin observing the electoral process to the Election Commission.
The Election Commission has instructed the Secretary of the ElectionCommission to convene a meeting on October 16th. The Election Commissionstated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and other concernedauthorities would participate in the meeting, and in the meeting, a code ofethics for international observers would also be finalized and approved.
In the meeting, the Election Commission also reviewed the arrangements forthe upcoming general elections, and it was decided in the meeting that allmatters related to the elections would be completed as per the schedule.
