Islamabad: Pakistan has made the definitive decision to repatriate illegalforeign residents in the country, with expectations that illegal foreignresidents will sell their assets until the expected deadline and be boundto return to their home countries.
According to details, a high-level meeting of the National SecurityCommittee, chaired by Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq, was held, attended byArmy Chief General Asim Munir, provincial chief ministers, Prime Ministerof Azad Kashmir, and Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The meetingincluded a briefing on measures against terrorism and actions againstillegal foreign residents.
Various proposals were discussed to establish peace and security. In theApex Committee meeting, a significant decision was taken regarding illegalforeign residents under the National Action Plan, making a final decisionto repatriate them in Pakistan.
It is possible that a definite deadline will be given to expel illegalforeign residents, they will be bound to sell their assets until theexpected deadline, and upon the expiration of the deadline, foreignnationals will be dispossessed of their properties in Pakistan.
According to sources, Afghan citizens can only travel to Pakistan throughthe legally implemented digitized “e-Tazkira,” and only holders of “Proofof Registration” will be eligible for Afghan residency in Pakistan.
Sources mentioned that Afghan citizens holding legal visas will also beeligible to travel to Pakistan, while illegal Afghan residents in Pakistanwill also be required to return to their home country before the possibledeadline.
