After the earthquake prediction by Dutch scientists in Quetta and Chaman,the residents of Quetta are feeling restless. In response, the Quettaadministration has issued a statement to reassure the citizens.

Commissioner Quetta, Hamza Shafqat, mentioned that the meteorologicaldepartment has not confirmed any earthquake prediction for Quetta andChaman.

Despite repeated attempts by the public to contact them, they have notreceived any verification. He further stated that they are conducting mockdrills in anticipation of any emergency situation and all relevantagencies, including the PDMA, FC, Army, civil administration, Levies, andthe police, are prepared to respond.

Moreover, Hamza Shafqat emphasized that preemptive actions have alreadybeen taken against vulnerable structures and old buildings. Vigilance isbeing maintained 24/7 to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. While it’simpossible to predict the exact timing or intensity of an earthquake,staying informed and prepared is crucial for the residents.
