Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf, renowned for his outstanding cricketperformances, recently shared an inspiring story of his journey in adocumentary titled “The Incredible Rise of Haris Rauf,” released byCricinfo.
As he prepares for the 2023 World Cup, Rauf reflected on the challengesthat ignited his love for cricket and drove him to pursue his dreams.
In a heartfelt interview, Rauf revealed that financial constraints and hisdetermination to continue his education led him to embrace tape ballcricket, a more accessible form of the sport.
Due to his father’s limited income, funding his education posed asignificant hurdle, compelling Rauf to take matters into his own hands. “Iturned to tape ball cricket to earn money for my education because myfather’s income couldn’t cover my fees. I even sold snacks on Sundays tosupplement our income, as my mother had a dream of owning our own house,”explained Rauf in ESPNcricinfo’s documentary.
