Breakthrough development reported in Mianwali terrorist incident

The investigation into the attack that took place between Saturday andSunday nights at the police checkpoint in Mianwali has made significantprogress. Both attackers have been identified. On the night betweenSaturday and Sunday, terrorists attacked the police patrolling post inMianwali, but the timely response by the Punjab Police and CTD resulted inthe elimination of two terrorists, while one was injured. In the exchange,a police officer was martyred.

The authorities initiated an inquiry into this terrorist attack, andimportant developments have occurred, including the identification of bothattackers involved in the police response.

CTD officials have stated that the two deceased terrorists have beenidentified as Zubair Nawaz and Mohammad Khan, with affiliations to thebanned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Their identification was made possiblewith the assistance of intelligence agencies and modern software.

According to authorities, Zubair Nawaz was associated with the banned TTP’sTTP Group and was the brother of Lucky Marwat, the TTP commander in chargeof sectarian killings, extortion, and other crimes in Punjab.

The second terrorist, Mohammad Khan, was also a member of the same bannedTTP group and was considered more dangerous than Zubair Nawaz.
