The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) made an announcement inIslamabad concerning a significant hike in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)prices. As per the latest adjustment by OGRA, the cost of LPG has risen byRs20.86 per kilogram, resulting in a new fixed price of Rs 260.98 perkilogram for LPG.
Moreover, the domestic cylinder rate has also experienced a substantialincrease, with an additional Rs246.15 added to its price. Consequently, therevised rates for LPG, with the recent price increments, now stand atRs3,079.64 per domestic cylinder.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan recently received its inaugural shipment of100,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Russia. Thisdevelopment was conveyed through a statement from the Russian Embassy toPakistan on a social media platform, where it was mentioned that Moscowsuccessfully delivered the first batch of LPG, amounting to 100,000 metrictons, to Pakistan.
The LPG shipment entered Pakistan via Iran’s Sarakh’s Special Economic Zone(SEZ), and discussions between Pakistan and Russia are underway for apotential second LPG shipment.
In light of these updates, it is evident that the LPG market in Pakistan isexperiencing significant fluctuations, both in terms of pricing andinternational supply partnerships.
