FBR achieves revenue target set by IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed satisfaction with theperformance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to sources from the Ministry of Finance, an online meeting tookplace between the IMF and FBR, during which Pakistan assured the IMF thatthe government would not impose any new taxes.

The FBR stated that it would achieve its tax targets without imposing anynew taxes, and the IMF is confident in the FBR’s performance. Sourcesmentioned that the IMF will be informed about the economic performance inthe first week of October, including data on revenue collection from Julyto September.

According to sources, the FBR has exceeded its revenue collection target inthe first three months of the current fiscal year, collecting 2.1 trillionrupees, while the target for the first three months was 1.98 trillionrupees. The sources also noted that the FBR has informed the IMF about itsplans to take action against tax evaders.
