Lahore: Chairman PCB Management Committee Zakaa Ashraf says that thedecision regarding changes in the captain and coaching staff will be madeafter the World Cup. They will evaluate performance in the World Cup beforemaking a decision. His decision hints that if Babar Azam failed to performin the World Cup he would certainly loss his captaincy.
Speaking on a private TV program, Chairman PCB Management Committee ZakaaAshraf said he hopes the Pakistani team will perform well in the World Cup.The team arrived in India a few days ago, and it will take some time to getaccustomed to the conditions.
Zakaa Ashraf mentioned that the team had some good players on rest duringthe warm-up matches, but teams that don’t perform in practice matches oftenperform well. Pakistan has star players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan,and Shaheen Afridi.
He also mentioned that Mohammad Yousuf is a respected name in Pakistancricket, but he didn’t have the option to bring coaches to the team. MickeyArthur was appointed during Najam Sethi’s tenure, and removing him wouldhave tarnished PCB’s reputation.
