Washington: International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director of Communications,Julie Kozack, has stated that we want wealthy individuals in Pakistan topay more taxes.
Speaking to the media, IMF’s Director of Communications Julie Kozackemphasized that the tax-to-GDP ratio in Pakistan is extremely low, andPakistan has reached a $3 billion Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF in July.
Julie Kozack called for reforms and improvements in the energy sector,stating that reforms in the energy sector would lead to stronger economicgrowth.
She expressed that the IMF aims for wealthy individuals to pay more taxesin Pakistan, and the objective of the recent agreement is to strengthenPakistan’s economy.
