Famous Chinese scientist has denied the claim of reaching the south pole ofthe moon from India’s side.In an interview with the Chinese newspaperScience Times, Ouyang Ziyuan, the founder of the lunar exploration programon China’s part, said that India’s claim of reaching the south pole of themoon is incorrect.
He stated that the landing site of Chandrayaan-3 was at a latitude of 69degrees south, while India claimed 88.5 and 90 degrees, which was far fromthe actual location of Chandrayaan-3.
Ouyang Ziyuan emphasized that the landing site of Chandrayaan-3 was not onthe south pole of the moon, nor was it anywhere near that area, being 619kilometers away from the south pole.
