Relief provided to PTI Chairman Imran Khan by IHC

The Islamabad High Court has approved the request for a meeting betweenImran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his lawyerin Adiala Jail.

Imran Khan’s lawyer had requested the meeting from the Islamabad HighCourt, which has now granted permission for the meeting. Chief JusticeAamer Farooq issued written instructions after the hearing, stating thatthe jail authorities should facilitate the meeting between Imran Khan andhis lawyer in accordance with the law.

It’s worth noting that two days ago, Imran Khan was transferred fromAdiala Jail to Attock Jail under heavy security, where he has access tobasic amenities as per jail regulations.

On August 12th, the court had also granted permission for Imran Khan, theformer Prime Minister, to meet with family members and lawyers, providinghim with an English translation of the prayer and the Holy Quran.
