Pressure was exerted by former PM Nawaz Sharif on the administration, afterwhich the release became possible. Senior journalist Javed Chaudhry, on hisYouTube channel, stated that he and another journalist had requested NawazSharif to play a role in the recovery of Imran Riaz, upon which NawazSharif exerted pressure on the establishment and the administration,leading to the possible release of Imran Riaz.
Javed Chaudhry further mentioned that they had previously reported in theirvlogs that Nawaz Sharif was advocating for Imran Riaz Khan’s recovery.
They stated that Nawaz Sharif was aware of Imran Riaz’s connection to theSharif family, yet he engaged with the establishment based on humanitariangrounds for the recovery of Imran Riaz.
It should be noted that Sialkot police announced this morning that therenowned journalist and TV anchor Imran Riaz Khan had safely reached hishome. Imran Riaz had been missing for over four months, and a case for hisrecovery was pending in the Lahore High Court.
