The Federal Investigation Agency’s Corporate Crime Circle in Lahore, underthe directives of its Director, conducted raids on a residence located atNisbat Road in Gawalmandi. During the operation, they successfullyrecovered currency notes worth Rs21.8 million.
This action is part of a broader initiative led by the Director of the FIALahore Zone to combat illegal currency trading and the ‘hundi’ mafia. Theindividuals, Hamzullah and Ayazullah, who were engaged in the unlawfulactivities of ‘hundi’ transactions and the trading of both domestic andforeign currency, were apprehended during the raid. A substantial sum ofdomestic currency, totaling two crore eighteen lakh Pakistani rupees, wasconfiscated from these individuals.
The suspects were allegedly causing significant economic harm to thecountry by accepting substantial amounts of money from various sources inLahore and facilitating their illegal transfer abroad through ‘hundi’channels. Authorities are actively pursuing the apprehension of otherindividuals involved in this illicit operation.
This crackdown underscores the government’s unwavering commitment tocombatting unlawful activities that pose a threat to the nation’s economy.It also emphasizes the critical role of regulatory oversight in preservingthe integrity of the country’s financial system.
