The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council convened a meeting onMonday to deliberate on preparations for the upcoming season and set thedate for the ninth season.
Chaired by Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB),the meeting took place at the National Cricket Academy and includedrepresentatives from all six PSL franchises. Among the significantdecisions made during the meeting was the retention of the six-team formatfor the forthcoming season.
The PCB also officially announced that the tournament is scheduled to takeplace from February 8 to March 24, 2024. The governing council coveredvarious topics, including the potential inclusion of a women’s cricketleague or exhibition matches within the PSL.
Additionally, the PCB is collaborating with the franchises to explorealternative venues in case of any unexpected developments.
During the meeting, the council paid a heartfelt and respectful tribute tothe late Alamgir Tareen, the former owner of Multan Sultans, andacknowledged his significant contributions to Pakistan cricket.
