Mother of All Deals hinted with jailed former PM Imran Khan

Mushahid Hussain Syed, a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) and a prominent Senator, hinted at the possibility of a significantagreement with the imprisoned chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) in a recent statement.

During an exclusive interview with ARY News, Senator Mushahid HussainSyed, who also leads the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, expressedconcerns about the management of “prisoner no. 804,” suggesting that amonumental agreement may be on the horizon with the PTI leader.

In his conversation, the PML-N leader portrayed the ongoing rift betweenthe PTI chairman and the Establishment as a complex matter akin to a”quarrel among lovers,” hinting at the potential for reconciliation andforgiveness.

He highlighted the dire need for unity and cooperation among politicalfactions for the betterment of Pakistan, stressing that the nation cannotafford further confrontation.

Furthermore, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed acknowledged the militaryestablishment’s stance on internal accountability, emphasizing that theyhave their own mechanism for ensuring accountability within their ranks.This stance indicates a significant challenge in achieving transparency andexternal oversight of the military’s actions.

Lastly, the lawmaker revealed that he did not participate in the Londonmeeting where the decision to support the extension of Qamar Javed Bajwa asthe Chief of Army Staff was made, underscoring a degree of detachment fromkey decisions within his own party’s leadership.
