The emergency meeting of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council isscheduled for September 25th. This meeting has been called in response tothe continuous demands of franchise owners who are concerned about thecurrent state of affairs in the PSL. There are strong chances they PSL maybe shifted to UAE this year due upcoming elections and other concerns.

This gathering will be chaired by Zakka Ashraf, who leads the PCBManagement Committee. Reports suggest that franchise owners have expresseddisappointment in the management of the PSL due to financial concerns,particularly regarding the handling of expenses for PSL 8. Franchise ownersare also unhappy about the lack of consultation regarding the appointmentof the IPL’s head.

Furthermore, there are concerns about the scheduling of the PSL forFebruary and March, as no consultations have taken place with thefranchisees regarding these dates.

The PSL franchisees face additional challenges, as they have expanded theirpresence in leagues in the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.Additionally, franchise owners are apprehensive about the registration offoreign players in other leagues, which could potentially impact playeravailability for the IPL
