Chairman PTI Imran khan received shocking news from lawyer

In Attock, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan receivedsurprising news from his legal team on Thursday regarding the replacementof the judge overseeing the Judge Zeba Chaudhry case filed against him.

According to Salman Safdar, one of PTI chief Imran Khan’s legal advisors,Imran Khan was both shocked and concerned by the change in the presidingjudge for the Judge Zeba Chaudhry case. Speaking to the media outsideAttock jail after meeting with his client, Salman Safdar expressed thatJudge Malik Aman, who had been handling the case, was expected to deliver averdict soon.

He expressed his belief that changing the judge at this critical juncturewas not appropriate. Salman Safdar also mentioned that Imran Khanpersonally visited Judge Zeba Chaudhry’s court and offered an apology forcomments he had made against her during a public gathering.

Imran Khan had previously faced charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act forallegedly making threats against Judge Zeba Chaudhry and senior policeofficers during a public rally in August the previous year. The IslamabadHigh Court had initiated contempt of court proceedings against him, butlater dropped the terror charges and pardoned Imran Khan after he issued anapology in the contempt case.

However, a separate case had been filed against him, which was stillpending before the sessions court. Regarding the cipher case, Imran Khan’slawyer expressed that his client was feeling extremely despondent as he hadfailed to secure bail. He asserted that there had been no breach of theOfficial Secrets Act and informed Imran Khan about the suspension of bailin nine cases and the ongoing nine cases in the IHC.

Last month, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had charged Imran Khanand PTI’s vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi under the Official Secrets Actfor alleged mishandling and misuse of classified documents for politicalpurposes.
