Due to security concerns, the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up match betweenPakistan and New Zealand scheduled for September 29 in Hyderabad will beconducted without spectators. The decision was made by the organizers, andthe Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) will facilitate refundsfor ticket holders through their ticketing partner.

A representative from the BCCI stated, “The match will be held without anaudience, and those who purchased tickets will receive a refund,” asreported by the Indian media outlet ‘Indian Express.’

Specifically, security concerns arose due to events such as Ganesh Visarjanand Mila-Un-Nabi on September 28. The Hyderabad police had requested apostponement, but due to a tight schedule, it was agreed to play the matchbehind closed doors at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Similar security concerns surround two World Cup 2023 pool games involvingPakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and the Netherlands, scheduled forOctober 9 and October 10 in Hyderabad.
