Nasrullah, a sought-after commander affiliated with the bannedTehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), landed in the custody of theCounter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi, as reported by ARY News onWednesday. According to a statement by Khurram Waris, the head of CTD,Nasrullah, a prominent TTP leader hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), wasapprehended in Karachi’s Kuwari Colony, and a cache of weapons was seizedfrom his possession.
Nasrullah had been on the run, wanted for his involvement in grave offensessuch as terror financing and acts of terrorism. Additionally, he had beenproviding shelter to his accomplices in Karachi and extending medical aidto the injured.
Moreover, Nasrullah had a significant role in fundraising for the outlawedorganization, employing various methods to accumulate funds that weresubsequently funneled to Afghanistan. The CTD in-charge further revealedthat Nasrullah’s brother and a close relative were also implicated in theseterrorist activities. This apprehension marked a notable blow to the TTP’snetwork, as it disrupted their operations and financial resources
