Former Australian Test wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has revealed his topfour teams for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup scheduled to take placein India in October this year.
In a recent conversation with Press Trust of India (PTI), Gilchristexpressed his thoughts on the tournament. He told PTI, “In my opinion,India and Pakistan can be part of the semi-finals, while Australia andEngland are the other two teams.”
He shed further light on Australia’s preparations, stating that they willhave an opportunity to fine-tune their preparations against India in athree-match series ahead of the mega event. He also mentioned that”Australia will learn a lot from their series in South Africa when theycome to India.
They have three matches against India before the World Cup, so they willhave a complete squad there to tell us where they stand. That’s why it’s sohard to pick a World Cup winner, but I think there might be foursemi-finalists.”
Note: The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in India inOctober and November, featuring a total of 10 teams. The tournament kicksoff on October 5th, with the final match scheduled for November 19th.
