The Islamabad High Court has issued a notice on the request for bail afterarrest in the cipher case of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Chief Justice AamerFarooq heard Imran Khan’s request. The request to schedule Imran Khan’scase for a hearing this week was rejected. Imran Khan’s lawyer hadrequested that the hearing be scheduled for this week.
The Chief Justice remarked that your request will be scheduled for ahearing next Monday. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, said that it wouldbe better if a date within this week is available, to which Chief JusticeAamer Farooq remarked that the procedure is already in motion, and thissystem operates automatically. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq mentioned thatthis system was operating similarly even before with both you and me.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has issued a notice to the FIA to seek aresponse. It should be noted that Imran Khan had filed a request for bailafter arrest in the cipher case in the Islamabad High Court. Thisdevelopment comes at a time when last week, a special court formed underthe Official Secrets Act had rejected the bail request of the former PrimeMinister.
