In the city of Rawalpindi in the Punjab province of Pakistan, foreigncurrency warehouse has been discovered. Eight suspects have been arrested.Federal investigative agencies, including the FIA (Federal InvestigationAgency) and law enforcement agencies, conducted a raid in the Jhelum areaof Rawalpindi during the crackdown on currency smuggling and storage duringthe lockdown.
It has been reported from sources that based on the identification of thesuspects, the FIA and other law enforcement agencies conducted a raid inthe Jhelum area of Rawalpindi, where millions of dollars, pounds, riyals,and billions of Pakistani rupees were recovered from the H&H and Al-Hameedcurrency exchanges. Eight individuals were apprehended at the scene.
It has come to light that during the operation led by FIA Deputy DirectorJaved Nasrani and Sub-Inspector Gohar Shah, initially over 400 millionrupees in local and foreign currency were seized from a digital locker.However, the discovery of hidden currency in the walls and grounds,concealed in digital safes, has led to the revelation of a total amount tobe determined after the digital lockers are opened.
It is reported that the owners of the plaza was provided by raiding teamlegal documents, after which the digital lockers were requested to beunlocked for further examination. During this process, a dispute arosebetween FIA and the plaza owner over the amount discovered in the privatevault, leading the FIA to request police assistance for resolution.
