Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has taken a significant step byestablishing a steering committee dedicated to the oversight ofhousing-related matters for federal government employees. Comprisingesteemed Federal Secretaries, this committee has been entrusted with thecrucial task of monitoring and managing projects undertaken by both theFederal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the PakistanHousing Authority (PHA) Foundation.

Unfortunately, both of these organizations have been grappling withsubstantial project delays, causing undue hardship for federal governmentemployees who are waiting for their housing entitlements. These delays haveresulted in a less-than-optimal delivery of these essential benefits,leaving many employees frustrated and in limbo.

To address these pressing issues, the newly formed committee will convenemonthly meetings. During these sessions, the Secretary of Housing andWorks, alongside the Directors General of FGEHA and the Managing Directorsof PHA Foundation, will provide detailed updates on the status of ongoingprojects within their respective organizations.

This regular reporting mechanism will enable the committee to stay informedand make informed decisions to expedite the fulfillment of housingentitlements for both current and retired federal government employees.
