An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has decided to prolong the custody of PTIleaders, which includes Dr. Yasmin Rashid, former Punjab governor UmarSarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry, and Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, in connectionwith the May 9 violence and the attack on Jinnah House.
This decision involves an additional 12 days of judicial remand for theShadman police station torching case and an extra 14 days for the JinnahHouse attack case.
The accused were presented in court following the completion of theirprevious judicial remand. The investigating officer has requested the courtfor this extension, stating that the cases against the accused arecurrently being prepared and will soon be submitted to the court.
