Former captains Rashid Latif and former Test cricketer Bazid Khan revealedduring a private TV channel conversation that the unfair decision toschedule an alternative day for the Pakistan-India match in the Super 4stage posed a significant obstacle to Pakistan’s path to the tournamentfinal.
It is stated that if Pakistan-India Super 4 match had not been scheduledfor an alternative day, both teams would have received 1 point each, and atthat time, Pakistan’s run rate was better than India.
Following Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka, the national team remained incontention for the final with a better run rate and 3 points. If thePakistan-India match had not been scheduled for an alternative day,Bangladesh would have had 3 points after defeating India.
