Pakistan’s fast bowler, Naseem Shah, may find himself absent from the earlymatches of the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India, according toinformation revealed by skipper Babar Azam. He was unable to complete his 10th over and had to leave the field.Subsequently, he was absent from Thursday’s match against Sri Lanka, as heflew to Dubai for medical scans.
Amidst concerns about Naseem Shah’s fitness, Babar Azam remained uncertainabout whether the young bowler would be fully fit for the start of thetournament next month. When asked about the situation, Babar chose to keepPakistan’s backup plans under wraps, stating, “I’ll tell you later.”
However, he did express optimism about the recovery of both Naseem Shah andHaris Rauf, who had also suffered a side strain. Despite the uncertainties,Babar hinted that Naseem Shah might still make an appearance in the WorldCup later on.
