On Monday, Zahir Shah, the deputy chairman of the National AccountabilityBureau (NAB), officially tendered his resignation from his position, asreported by sources within the accountability watchdog. In his resignationletter submitted to the NAB chairman, Shah attributed his departure tocompelling personal reasons that rendered him unable to fulfill his duties.
However the sources have revealed that his resignation may be seen incontinuation of the earlier resignation submitted by the Prosecutor GeneralNAB a few days ago.
Notably, Zahir Shah boasts a history of key roles within the NAB, havingpreviously served as the director general for NAB Rawalpindi and NABOperations, in addition to his stint as the acting chairman of theorganization.
It’s worth highlighting that Zahir Shah’s resignation comes on the heels ofanother significant departure within the NAB, where Asghar Haider, theprosecutor general, had also recently resigned.
