An investigation into a casino-related scandal involving two high-rankingofficials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been launched. ZakaAshraf, the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, has initiated theinquiry and issued show cause notices to Umar Kalson, the Board’s MediaHead, and Adnan Ali, the GM International. Both individuals have beeninstructed to provide a written explanation within a seven-day timeframe.

The controversy unfolded when it was revealed that these two officials hadallegedly frequented a casino, a direct breach of their contractualobligations with the PCB. Their contracts expressly prohibit PCB employeesfrom visiting establishments such as gambling houses.

Zaka Ashraf has made it clear that if these officials are found culpable,legal action will be taken against them. This is not the first instance ofPCB officials being embroiled in such controversies, as historical recordsreveal that action was previously taken against the national team managerand test cricketer Moin Khan for a similar casino visit.
