During the first two months of fiscal year FY24, the trade relationshipbetween Pakistan and Afghanistan saw an 11 percent decrease, going from$264.40 million to $234.48 million.
Specifically, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan in July-August 2023-24amounted to $135.52 million, a 1 percent decrease from the previous year’s$136.97 million. Similarly, Pakistan’s imports from Afghanistan dropped to$98.96 million from $127.43 million in July-August 2022-23, marking a 22percent decline.
In August 2023, the overall bilateral trade increased by 35 percentcompared to July 2023 but decreased by 11 percent compared to August 2022,with Pakistan exporting $76.40 million worth of goods to Afghanistan andimporting $58.90 million worth of goods from Afghanistan, reflecting a 44percent increase from July 2023 but a 22 percent decrease from the samemonth the previous year when imports were $75.42 million.
