In the prior government led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM),significant coalition partners including the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) engaged in a blame gameregarding their failures.
Various PPP leaders were displeased by the criticism from PML-N leaders andconveyed their concerns to the top leadership. The PPP’s top leaders areunder pressure to respond to the verbal attacks from PML-N, but theyhaven’t received permission to do so. The PPP leaders plan to address thisissue in an upcoming session of the party’s central executive committee(CEC).
They intend to request an explanation from PML-N leaders regarding theirharsh statements. A PPP leader suspects that these statements reflect aparty policy to shift blame onto the PPP. Additionally, the PPP leaderlamented PML-N’s lack of response to the smear campaign against theirparty. Asif Ali Zardari, former president and PPP co-chairman, expressedconfidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a statementreleased on PPP’s social media.
