Pakistan Cricket Team faces serious security threats in India in World Cup: Indian media

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has expressed concerns about thesecurity arrangements for the World Cup warm-up game scheduled forSeptember 29 between Pakistan and New Zealand. They have formally requesteda rescheduling of this match due to impending security challenges.

The primary cause for concern arises from the simultaneous occurrence ofthe Ganesh Visarjan and Milan-Un-Nabi festivals, both culminating onSeptember 28. These celebrations will necessitate the deployment of asubstantial number of police officers, raising doubts about theavailability of adequate security personnel for the cricket match.

In an effort to address this issue, the HCA has taken the initiative tocommunicate their apprehensions to the Board of Control for Cricket inIndia (BCCI) executives via email. However, as of now, there has been noresponse from the BCCI regarding the requested rescheduling.

Furthermore, the concerns surrounding security extend beyond this warm-upgame. Local authorities had informally approached both the BCCI and theInternational Cricket Council (ICC) last month, urging them to considerrescheduling the World Cup games scheduled for October 9 and 10.

They cited their inability to ensure sufficient security for both matches. The police have conveyed that they will struggle to provide adequateprotection for the Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka game on October 10 if the NewZealand vs. Netherlands match goes ahead as planned on October 9.

Despite these ongoing concerns raised by the HCA and local authorities, theBCCI has yet to make any adjustments to the game schedules, leaving thestatus of these matches uncertain
