Blame game intensifies between the PDM government partners

Blaming Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the economic turmoilplaguing the nation, former National Assembly member Shahida Rehmani,representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), expressed her concernsregarding the failure of all PML-N ministers who held positions in theprevious coalition government.

Shahida Rehmani emphasized that PML-N had a tendency to deflect blame forits own shortcomings, effectively concealing its incompetence.

In her conversation with City 21, she reiterated the PPP’s unwaveringdemand for general elections to be held within 90 days following thedissolution of the National Assembly. Shahida firmly stated that the PPPhad already made this demand and would continue to do so. She emphasizedthat this call was non-negotiable.

Addressing the misconception that the PPP was a part of the PakistanDemocratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of political parties that brieflygoverned the country after the ousting of the PTI government in April 2022,Shahida clarified that her party was a member of the government, not thePDM.

During her statements, Shahida highlighted the concern expressed overrising inflation during the recent meeting of the CEC (Central ExecutiveCommittee). Furthermore, she praised the foreign policy devised by PPPChairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who had served as the foreign minister inthe previous government, characterizing it as ‘historic’ and garneringinternational acclaim
