Mustafa Kamal makes bold claims about elections in Sindh

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) expressed their distrust in the Sindhelection commissioner and called for his replacement.

In a press conference held at Pakistan House in Karachi, MQM Senior DeputyConvener Mustafa Kamal made the following statements: “Elections in theprovince are not contested; they are bought,” Mustafa Kamal remarked,highlighting concerns about the electoral process.

He expressed frustration with the 2018 elections, stating, “The countrywas brought to chaos through the RTS system in the 2018 elections.Provincial Election Commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Chauhan should be transferredimmediately.”

Adding to their demands, he emphasized, “There should be no delay inholding general elections, and we insist on conducting them according tonew constituencies.”

Mustafa Kamal also criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ChairmanImran Khan, accusing him of deceiving the public in the name ofRiyasat-e-Madinah. He further remarked, “His lawyer is Salman Rushdie’slawyer.”

The MQM leaders issued a stern warning to the government, stating, “Wewill condemn any attempts to undermine democracy under the guise ofcontroversial decisions.” They also called on the Sindh caretaker chiefminister to play a crucial role in ensuring transparent elections.

These statements from the MQM underscore their concerns and demandsregarding the electoral process and government actions in Sindh.
