The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended the Commander of abanned extremist organization in Sukkur. According to a spokesperson fromthe CTD, the captured individual, identified as Farooq Shah, held theposition of the head of the banned outfit’s provincial student wing. He hadbeen sought after in connection with seven prominent terrorism cases.

This apprehension is a significant development, given that the arrestedterrorist’s name was listed in the Red Book, indicating his involvement innumerous abduction cases. During the operation, law enforcement recoveredone pistol and a cache of bullets from the accused, and an ongoinginvestigation is in progress to gather further information.

In a separate incident, a tragic attack occurred on the Pak-Afghan borderin Chitral, resulting in the martyrdom of four Pakistan Army soldiers andthe elimination of 12 terrorists.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement detailingthe attack, explaining that a substantial contingent of terrorists, armedwith advanced weaponry, launched an assault on two military checkpoints.Intelligence had indicated terrorist movements in the Nuristan and Kunarprovinces of Afghanistan. Swift and effective action by the security forcesultimately led to the elimination of 12 terrorists.
