The fast bowler Nasim Shah of the national team has etched his name in thehistory of Pakistan’s 50-year one-day cricket, becoming the first Pakistanibowler to take at least one wicket in his first 13 one-day matches in hiscareer.
Nasim Shah secured 3 wickets against Bangladesh in the super four stage ofthe Asia Cup at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. So far, in his 20-year career, hehas taken 32 wickets in 13 matches with an average of 15.31.
Earlier Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam has once again made his name in therecord books, surpassing India’s Virat Kohli in achieving the honor ofbecoming the fastest captain to reach 2000 runs in One Day Internationalcricket. Babar took 31 innings to reach this milestone, while Virat Kohlihad achieved 2000 ODI runs as captain in 36 innings.
South Africa’s AB de Villiers and Australia’s Michael Clarke are third andfourth in this list with 41 and 47 innings, respectively. During the AsiaCup’s super four match against Bangladesh at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, thePakistani captain achieved this feat, reaching 8,000 runs.
Last week, Babar scored a brilliant 151 runs off just 131 balls in theopening match of the Asia Cup, surpassing South Africa’s Hashim Amla andbecoming the fastest century maker in the history of one-day cricket with19 centuries.
