Top international company to invest in Pakistan s IT sector

Huawei CEO Ethan Sun recently had a meeting with Caretaker Prime MinisterAnwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad, during which Huawei expressed itsinterest in investing in Pakistan’s IT sector. Sun took the opportunity toinform the Prime Minister about Huawei’s ongoing efforts to promote anddevelop the information technology ecosystem within Pakistan. Notably,Huawei has already established approximately 100 information technologycenters across various universities in the country.

Prime Minister Kakar commended Huawei for its proactive stance inadvancing information technology within Pakistan and expressed optimismthat Huawei would collaborate with the government to provide training andsupport to the country’s youth and women, especially those residing inremote regions, in the field of information technology.

Moreover, the Prime Minister welcomed Huawei’s eagerness to expand itsinvestments in Pakistan’s information technology sector and extended aninvitation for Huawei to consider establishing manufacturing plants formobile handsets within the country. Caretaker Minister for InformationTechnology, Dr. Umar Saif, also attended the meeting, demonstrating thegovernment’s commitment to fostering such collaborations in the technologysector.

It’s worth noting that Huawei Technologies, in partnership with China’sleading chipmaker SMIC, has recently developed an advanced 7-nanometerprocessor to power its latest smartphone, the Mate 60 Pro. Thisbreakthrough chip, known as Kirin 9000s, was manufactured by SemiconductorManufacturing International Corp (SMIC) in China. The Mate 60 Pro, whichboasts the capabilities of satellite communication, was introduced to themarket by Huawei, although specific details regarding the chipset’s powerwere not initially disclosed.
