Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited Uzbekistan and held meetingswith the Uzbek President, Defense Minister, Chairman of the SecurityServices, and other officials. According to the ISPR (Inter-Services PublicRelations), the purpose of General Asim Munir’s two-day visit to Uzbekistanis to strengthen military and defense cooperation between the twocountries.
During his visit, General Asim Munir met with the Uzbek President and helddiscussions with the Defense Minister and Chairman of the Security Services.
ISPR also reported that General Asim Munir appreciated the training andpreparedness of the Uzbek Army and praised their regional security efforts.Upon his arrival at the Ministry of Defense, he was warmly welcomed, and atraditional Uzbek hand gesture of greeting was extended to him. ISPRfurther mentioned that General Asim Munir paid his respects at the memorialcomplex for martyrs in Tashkent.
