Pakistan and Iran have recently reiterated their commitment to bolsteringcooperation within the health sector. This reaffirmation of collaborationtook place during a meeting between Caretaker Health Minister Dr. NadeemJan and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, held in Islamabad onTuesday.
During this meeting, Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam paid a visit to theoffice of Federal Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan, where they engaged inin-depth discussions concerning various aspects of health cooperationbetween these two neighboring nations.
Dr. Nadeem Jan, in his remarks, emphasized the enduring and closefraternal ties that exist between Pakistan and Iran. He expressed a strongdesire for both countries to draw upon each other’s experiences to improvehealthcare facilities and protect their populations from diseases.
Moreover, the two sides reached an agreement to enhance collaboration inhealth research and technical assistance. Pakistan is poised to benefitsignificantly from Iran’s expertise and best practices in the realm ofprimary healthcare. Dr. Nadeem Jan also expressed gratitude for Iran’sgenerous donation of a Dialysis machine, which will serve the people ofPakistan.
In response, the Iranian Ambassador extended his congratulations to Dr.Nadeem Jan on his appointment as Health Minister and offered his prayersfor his success. He remarked that having a globally recognized publichealth expert as Pakistan’s Health Minister holds the promise of tangibleimprovements within the healthcare sector.
