Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, while speaking to the media at the Supreme CourtRegistry in Lahore, stated that the country’s courts are independent, andall actions in the country are in accordance with the constitution and thelaw. Nazir Tarar further mentioned that at times, the courts make decisionsthat go beyond the constitution and the law, and the law allows militarytrials for those who attack military installations.
He also emphasized that constituency delimitation is underway, andelections will likely take place in January or February. He stressed theneed for a dialogue on inflation in the country, stating that economicstability can be achieved through political stability. On the other hand,PML-N leader Khawaja Asif mentioned that the public is facing anger due torising prices, and the presence of the party leadership in London is notonly causing restlessness within the party but is also a challenge inaddressing the public’s anger.
Khawaja Asif stated that it would be better for Nawaz Sharif to return inOctober, and Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar should come back immediately. Healso expressed surprise at the extent of the damage when Ishaq Darreturned, as it was not expected. He mentioned that there is no doubt thatthere is restlessness in our constituencies and among the people, andMaryam Nawaz is continuously in contact with the public.
He further pointed out that the rising inflation is causing unrest amongthe public, and the presence of Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif in Londonis increasing the restlessness within the PML-N. On the other hand, PPPleader Qamar Zaman Kaira stated that until recently, he was a part of thegovernment, but now he wonders how to talk about it when electricity billshave increased significantly, and the public is distressed.
