Huge disappointment for Asian cricket fans

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its dissatisfaction with thedecision made by Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah to relocate AsiaCup matches to Colombo without consulting them. This unilateral moveprompted the PCB to call for a meeting of the ACC, seeking to voice theirprotest against such a decision that directly impacted the tournament’svenue.

According to sources, the ACC’s members had reached a unanimous consensusto shift the venue to Hambantota. However, contrary to this agreement, JayShah informed the PCB via email that the matches would remain in Colomboand not be relocated. This unexpected decision left the PCB disheartenedand led to their protests.

Reports on this matter emerged following a telephonic conversation betweenPCB Chief Zaka Ashraf and the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricketin India, Jay Shah. During this conversation, the two discussed therain-affected India-Pakistan matches and proposed the need to make adecision regarding whether the matches should be held in Pakistan or theUnited Arab Emirates (UAE).
