State of the art security equipment installed at Pakistani Airports

The United Kingdom High Commissioner in Islamabad has gifted Pakistan withtwo airport security scanners, equipped with latest technology. Theofficial delivery ceremony took place in recent days in the city ofKarachi, where the “Jinnah” airport is located, one of the main ones in theMiddle Eastern country.

“It is a demonstration of the UK’s support for security at Pakistan’sairports. We all want travelers to fly safely and securely. Aviation playsa vital role in growing trade between the two countries. I would like tothank Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority for the co-operation we have onaviation safety”, said British High Commissioner *Jane Marriott*.

With over 1.6 million people of Pakistani origin living in the UK, theEuropean country has a strong connection with Islamabad. Hundreds ofthousands of people travel between the two states every year and it istherefore a priority for London to ensure the safety of air connections.For this reason the British government invested 164,000 Euros to providetwo security systems at the airports of Karachi and Lahore.
