Decision made to switch Asia Cup Super 4 stage venue

The decision has been made to move the matches of the Asia Cup Super Fourstage from Colombo to Hambantota. It is reported that due to heavy rainfallin Colombo, the decision has been taken to relocate the 8 matches of theevent, including the final, to Hambantota. Indian media suggests that thecricket team will go to Hambantota instead of Colombo.

It should be noted that Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan CricketBoard’s Management Committee, had contacted Jay Shah, the President of theAsian Cricket Council (ACC), regarding the Asia Cup. Zaka Ashraf had toldJay Shah during their conversation that there is a possibility of furtherrainfall in Sri Lanka, and there is no chance of rain in Pakistan, so theyshould consider moving the matches to Pakistan.

He had stated that the Asia Cup is a major tournament and should not beaffected by rain. Jay Shah had responded to Zaka Ashraf, saying that wewill consider the current situation.
