In Lahore, a mega corruption scandal involving the Patwaris (revenueofficials) of more than 5 billion rupees has come to light. According todetails, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lahore has sent a reference to theAnti-Corruption Punjab against the Patwaris and private agents involved incorruption. Action has been initiated against those involved in corruption.
Forgery in land records was carried out in the Patwari Circle of TehsilCity, Niaz Baig. Bogus documents were prepared for more than 50 fraudulenttransactions.
Fake documents for the lands in the concealed areas of Niaz Baig Circlehave also been created. Initial investigations have revealed evidenceagainst local Patwari Khadim Hussain and others.
