Former Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi was prevented from travelingabroad at Islamabad Airport. Shahid Khakan Abbasi was accompanied by hiswife on a trip to China. According to media reports, immigrationauthorities at Islamabad Airport stopped former Prime Minister ShahidKhakan Abbasi from traveling abroad, informing him that his name is on theSindh High Court’s stop list, so he cannot travel abroad.
After being informed by immigration authorities, Shahid Khakan Abbasireturned from the airport, while his wife departed for China on flight CZ6008. It’s worth noting that earlier, on September 10, Interior Minister ofSindh, Brigadier (Retired) Haris Nawaz, had stated that no action was beingtaken against any politician in Sindh.
In a statement, he mentioned that there was no political victimizationhappening in Sindh, only NAB and criminal cases were underway. Brigadier(Retired) Haris Nawaz stated that there was no one from Sindh on the stoplist, and no money had been withdrawn from anyone’s house in the province.He also said that no raids had been conducted at the homes of anypoliticians in Sindh.
Brigadier (Retired) Haris Nawaz suggested that it’s possible that rumorsare being spread to defame the government. It was previously known that thenumber of names included in the immigration’s stop list has exceeded onethousand, and names of close associates of Bilawal and Murad Ali Shah, aswell as personalities funding the PTI, are included in the stop list.
